What is an ANSA horse?

•  Soundness is paramount.

•  The ANSA Horse possesses strong functional conformation free from hereditary defects as a result of good breeding.

•  There is no sign of coarseness or commonness.

•  Their correct structure will enable a long sound productive life under saddle and their well-proportioned bodies produce a comfortable and pleasurable ride.

•  Versatility is highly valued and encouraged.

What's different?

•  The ANSA Horse is not a Hack or a Galloway – but he could be – same way he's also an Eventer, a Pony Clubber, a Campdrafter, a Dressage Horse or a Sporting Horse

•  In the ANSA Show Ring he is ridden in a snaffle bridle without any artificial aids.

Is your horse eligible for ANSA Classification?

•  Stallions, Mares and Geldings over 14 hands over the age of two years from foaling date are eligible for classification.

•  Any breed may be considered for registration

How do I register my horse?

•  Inspection by a classifier will evaluate a simple performance under saddle displaying basic paces and a straight trotting action. Not required for broodmares.

•  Alternatively, registration will be accepted based on proven ability. Performances required for direct entry to the registry differ between disciplines.

•  Four Open Hacking wins at Agricultural Shows are suitable; as is a placing in an Official Novice Dressage Test or a higher level, scoring 55%; or 3 Unofficial tests, Novice or higher, placing with 55% and above.

•  Contact the Association regarding performances for Campdrafting, Showjumping and Polocrosse

How do I benefit in having an ANSA Horse, other than enjoying a great saddlehorse?

•  More and more shows around the country are presenting ANSA Classes.

•  Direct entry to ANSA breed class at Royals like Canberra – no need to qualify

•  Eligibility for National High Point Score awards in your chosen discipline.

•  Points gained from any competition in 13 divisions from Versatile to Pony Club to Sporting and Youth High Point.

•  Well recognized and valuable registration

•  A quarterly magazine keeps you up to date on the ANSA world including the Progressive High Point Scores

•  ANSA is a growing and dynamic association placing the interests of the Australian Rider and Breeder first and foremost
