Sudani Shekels (dec)

Ralvon Nazarene x Revelry

Shekels was a teacher, a friend and a wonderful ambassador for the arabian horse. She was a registered partbred mare.

In the time that I had the honour of owning Shekels, she taught me about the showring, the dressage arena, the endurance trail and about the pleasure of taking a horse camping!

She was successful at the Australian Arabian Championships in halter, dressage and ridden events.

She completed an Endurance ride at Cambewarra.

She went to many pony club days, Dressage competitions and One Day Events, and always came home with some sort of award or placing.

I did my first show on Shekels. I will never forget it. You wouldnt have known it was my first show though, thanks to the talent of this remarkable mare. She won her ridden class.

My instructor at the time was Dawn Spicer, who owned and trained the Australian Champion Valinor Park Balthazar. Shekels taught me so much, that I was eventually awarded the ride on VP Balthazar - and won my first Champion Ridden ribbon.

We had many fun times, and I am a better horse person because of how she taught me.

Shekels was retired and went to live with her first owner - LeeAnn Roberts (nee Partridge) of Pinosa Park. She was laid to rest in the comfort of her paddock at a graceful age.

Rest in peace dear friend, I love you.
